Black Pottery –



a bright pearl from the ancient Long Shan Culture, playing a unique role in the initial civilization and attributed by historians to Black Pottery Culture – the other name of Long Shan Culture. Art of Black Pottery – originating more than 4,000 years ago in middle- and downstream



reaches of Yellow River in the later period of Neolithic Age. It’s a blend of shape, painting and calligraphy and carving, etc., reflecting historic moments as well as daily life with narrative and pictorial forms in a romantic or concrete style and representing the nature of amazingly diligent, wise and creative Chinese people. Because of the complicated technique and process, Black Pottery technique was lost for 3000 years. On April 1928, the archeologists excavated some black potteries from Longshan (a small town in Shandong, China),



from then on, after 61 years’ research and test, we finally recover this technique in 1989, this is a traditional complicated technique and any modern high-tech can not do this.
